Húgva means hat or beanie in Faroese. The pattern for Húgva is actually 3 patterns in 1. Knit your Húgva using the Brick pattern, the Berry pattern or the Textured rib pattern.

The measurements are onesize for adults and onesize for kids. The measurements vary a little, after which pattern is used and yarntype. Fx when using the Faerytale yarn the beanie will be a little wider and looser.

The beanie for adults is approx 50 cm /20 inches in circumference and 27 cm / 11 inches from top to bottom.

The beanie for kids is approx 46 cm /18 inches in circumference and 24 cm / 9.5 inches from top to bottom.

The gauge in the rib pattern is 18 sts per 10 cm / 4 inches. The most difficult of the 3 patterns is the brick pattern. Difficulty: intermediate. The beanie is knitted from bottom up.

About 70 g of yarn is used per beanie on needle size 4 and 4.5 for kid's and 4.5 and 5 for adult's size. 

Care information

Care for your sweater by hand washing and laying flat to dry. Also, use wool detergent.
